One of my dear friends invited me to a DoTERRA party at her house. DoTERRA sells therapeutic-grade essential oils that are meant to treat a wide variety of ailments.
Before this, the only essential oil I'd really used was orange oil in cleaning products. When I was a service rep at Home Depot, we would use an air freshener with it to clear the sticky gunk after removing labels. It had the added bonus of smelling heavenly.
I had heard of their Slim & Sassy mix and decided to support her mom (the rep) by buying a bottle. It contains a blend of grapefruit, cinnamon, lemon, ginger and peppermint oils. You put a few drops in a glass of water and drink it down. They suggest doing this several times a day.
Have you ever accidentally taken a bite of a citrus peel? The flavor is much like that, with added zing from the cinnamon, peppermint and ginger. It's quite eye-opening and wakes me up. Some people prefer to get some of those empty capsules and place a few drops in there. I like taking it in water since it helps ensure I get enough liquids in the day.
It's too early to tell if it's really doing anything to help me lose weight. I do find that if I drink it when I'm feeling munchy, it helps stop the cravings, so maybe that's good enough.
