However, I've been trying to make healthy choices when I do go out. I plan ahead on what I want to eat. When we were in St.Louis, they have a tradition of going to White Castle one night. I thought about it and I asked them to stop first at Wendy's for a Berry Almond Chicken Salad. I took it with me and still participated by eating one of their lil' cheeseburgers. If I didn't have the salad too, I would have to eat a lot of the burgers to get filled up.
I got another one of those salads today, along with a small chili:
I love the flavors. The Asiago cheese and the sea salt almonds provide a savory contrast to the sweetness of the berries and the dressing. The chicken is full of flavor. I got 11 blueberries and 8 pieces of strawberries. There is also a half size portion available.
They give me 2 packets of the fat free raspberry vinaigrette, but I find 1 to be enough, saving some calories. I save it for another time. I do use the whole packet of almonds.
I adore this salad. Eric was surprised that I thought this was so good. He thought I was just picking a salad because I was trying to be good and stay on plan.
