Salad for School Lunch

I have been working as a teacher at a local school for the past year.  I recently bought a lunch card since I forget my lunch sometimes and it's better if I don't skip meals. I sometimes get extra munchy and make bad choices if I do.

Today was a salad bar. This is what I ended up with.  I do wish the salad dressing wasn't added already.  I would have only taken a tiny bit, if any. It's a lot easier, though, I suppose, to have the salad already prepped.

I chose:

  • Salad mix
  • Cheese
  • Olives
  • Carrots
  • Corn
  • Tomatoes
  • Celery
  • Cucumber
  • Ham
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Imitation bacon bits
It's not too bad overall compared to some of the school lunches I've heard about online. I prefer skim milk instead of the 2% or full (I forget) that they give out.  I didn't eat all of the biscuit.

What are school lunches like in your area?
