Finally, a Before Picture

I don't think I've posted a picture in here before. I just decided that *gulp* it's time. I'll put up a "before" picture. Close enough, anyways.

Now, mind you, this is actually a positive picture, and I chose it specifically for that reason. Here I am crossing the finish line for the half marathon version of the Pocatello Marathon last September.  I was right around 242 pounds.  20 pounds lighter than my highest weight of 262, to be sure....but still not a lightweight by any means.

I like this picture though. I want to show people that races like 5ks, half marathons and marathons aren't just for "skinny" people.  It can be a wonderful way to get in shape.  Training for specific events keeps me exercising, because if I don't train enough...it sure hurts.

This year I am doing the full Pocatello Marathon. I'm hoping by then that I can place the pictures side by side and see a very distinct difference.  So far marathon training is going great.  I've gotten 3 days down, and even managed to jog for 5 minutes straight for the first time.

One day at a time....and you have to just keep going.

What in life keeps you going?

I am proud of you for posting this photo and for doing the marathons!

I keep going by focusing on why I am on my weight loss journey. First and foremost, I want to be healthier - but I also want to be able to wear "normal sized" clothes. I have a shirt in my closet that is my "goal shirt" I hope to fit into it one day!

Fantastic! The last run I did was when I was 16, LOL! I'm not much of a runner because my knees are horrible now. But I am trying to stay motivated to completely purge my diet of processed food and only eat whole foods. That alone should be good for losing a few pounds!

You are doing so good! I'm a plus size gal myself and I can't imagine doing a half run much less a full one.

Thanks so much all!

It did leave me pretty darn sore for about three days at least...must have been amusing to watch me gingerly hobble around the house. But it's such an awesome feeling to see that finish line :)

Keep up the great work! It's been a tough week. You are an encouragement to me. :)

I keep going because I've gone so far and know I can do it. Faith in the final outcome keeps me on track.
