I don't think I've posted a picture in here before. I just decided that *gulp* it's time. I'll put up a "before" picture. Close enough, anyways.
Now, mind you, this is actually a positive picture, and I chose it specifically for that reason. Here I am crossing the finish line for the half marathon version of the Pocatello Marathon last September. I was right around 242 pounds. 20 pounds lighter than my highest weight of 262, to be sure....but still not a lightweight by any means.
I like this picture though. I want to show people that races like 5ks, half marathons and marathons aren't just for "skinny" people. It can be a wonderful way to get in shape. Training for specific events keeps me exercising, because if I don't train enough...it sure hurts.
This year I am doing the full Pocatello Marathon. I'm hoping by then that I can place the pictures side by side and see a very distinct difference. So far marathon training is going great. I've gotten 3 days down, and even managed to jog for 5 minutes straight for the first time.
One day at a time....and you have to just keep going.
